We live and learn, I was not yet strong enough to hold more words of creation. The stones were left for now as we travelled away.

Away to the dwarven settlement in the east. Since Redemption and her then companions traveled there and rescued the dwarves from triffids and discovered a box nothing had been heard from the dwarves again. This was now close to 1.5 years ago. Hope for survivors were slim, but Soro needs stone almost as much as it does food, so we are going to investigate.

During the nights, as we got closer to the mines, some of us noticed a growing green light coming from the direction of the mines. The lines came in pulses, something nothing and sometimes a couple in quick succession.

As we flew closer we saw that vegetation became more and more dense. Previously Redemption had seen that this land was completely barren due to the influence of the Box. Now however it seemed to be turned around, with a complete jungle in the sinkhole of the mine itself.

We decided to land and close to last part on food. It was a bad choice.

We had not gone for more than a couple of feed when swarms of bees came towards us. And not your normal bees, no big critters that were somehow driven insane with anger. We managed to get them of us, and hurried along. But it was not long until we got in more trouble, this time it was hordes of spiders, I had better things to than be eaten alive by the bugs, and mounted Phantapheus and made of into the air. Ricardo was more stubborn and kept squishing the vermin, but as soon as he was done he was confronted by swarms of snakes! The whole jungle came for us wave after wave. Even for Ricardo this became a bit tedious, so we picked him up and flew towards the entrance of the mines itself.

The mine was blocked with a wall of vines, and flesh eating plants that Redemption remembered from her earlier travels to these parts. Before we had a chance to try to get rid of the plants yet another swarm of creatures came for us.. wolves! Not small bugs but big ass wolves. We made off on our steeds as fast as possible to the edge of the sinkhole, where it seemed more safe.

Up high we encountered a small Halfling, Moran, with his pet panther, Balan. They came from Athor as well, and had travelled to Soro on one of the first boats. He had decided that Soro was to busy for him and had left for the wild where he had been all this time. He had also come to the mines to investigate the glowing green light he saw at night. We decided we might be able to solve this problem together, another humanoid face is scarce in these parts, we would take anything we could get.

After a quick rest, some healing, and a casting of detect magic we tried again. With my eyes attuned to magic I could see that the whole sinkhole was steeped in some kind of magic, the magic pulsed and came in waves, whenever it came a maximum a new swarm of creatures would attack us.

We waited until a the magic was at a low and went for the mine entrance again. Ricardo had attuned to the rod of lordly mine, and he together with Redemption went to town on the plant wall, taking hits from carnivorous plants and the thorns that were everywhere. I never imagined that I would insult a plant to death, but there you have it. Halfway through the plant wall a big howl came from the jungle again and we saw wolves comes from the trees again. Just in time we managed to get through the plant wall to take cover. From cover we saw a very strange thing, when the wolves came close to the mine entrance they slid into the ground, as if they melted with the plants and undergrowth..

In the mines itself the glowing green of the magic seemed to be declined, however as we went through the tunnel, it turned back on itself, getting underneath the sinkhole again, and back into, what was apparently a cylinder going into the ground, the green magic area. In the tunnel a new crescendo of magic appeared again, and this time two umber hulks coming from the walls of the tunnel attacked us.
These creatures were far more sturdy than the swarms had been and the party took some hits before Redemption, in complete battlerage, murdered first the one, and then ran after the other one who was tunneling away. We only heard the sounds of battle and then Redemption coming from the tunnel covered in igor.
