SESSION 50 – Escape into the Necropolis

The white bright light felt warm and inviting ,just a little more through the tunnel of clouds to reach my final destination for endless peace. Then suddenly a  booming voice said it was not yet written for me to arive here. With commanding voice it told me to go back  and then a unseen force suddenly pulled me back with the speed of light.

As i opend my eyes the pain surged through my body …Awh yes i remember now .. the Spell Command didnt worked that well with undead. Sitting up i stared into the perplexed eyes  of the vampire spawn. Gues she didnt  know much what was written too.

I quickly healed myself a bit and draged me out of view from  this creature. Scanning for the halfling i presumed he wanderd somewhere in the shadows again. Seeing the burned zombie on the floor i concluded that the brave halfling had put up a fight  defending me. Strange times indeed.

Suddenly a firebolt emerged from the shadows hitting the ceiling above me. I didnt noticed it but the vampire spawn had moved with speed and stealth climbing the celing. Luckily the halfing had sharp eyes and blasted the vampire or as i see now clearly vampires. She used a mirror spell to duplicate several images of herself. Then the vampire unleashed a spell of herself damaging the little one greatly. Seeing the necrotic fire i exacly knew the pain he must feel. The Vampire darted back into the tunnel again. I ran past the tunnel entrance to cast divine damage on her but could not spot her in the shadows.. I finaly casted a Guardian of faith into the tunnel to ward the area for any other sneaky attacks. I ran to the halfing and waited fort he next move of the vampire.

After some seconds of silence and concering words of the halfing  i hurled a stone with the enchantment daylight into the tunnel and i spotted the vampire from far, running away!. Running away into  what seems to be a vast underground city of tombs and crypts. Damn Tiamaits tits!!…another Necropolis undead city.

After talking tactics with the halfing we slowly, carefully sneaked into the Necropolis with the little one as lead.  I tried mimicking the stealthy skill of the little one and felt verry proud how profesional we were as a team. Unseen and unnoticed we sneaked into the vast city. The halflings voice was too soft and highpitched for me  to understand him clearly. But i always recognise a praise from the heart. The halfing could not stop to aplaud my skill of stealth and my pride swell enormous by his words. I tried even more harder to be stealthy.

Suddenly i spotted a  place of interest and urged the halfling to investigate. After a time i found a strange bottle burried in a pile of bones. It seemed to be filled with smoke. The halfing  jumped from the shadows with also a curious find. A nice chainshirt and obviously magical for it resized itself when the halfing put it on right away. I wanted to tell him of the dangers of cursed items, especialy with treasures found in places like this. But he looked so happy with it so i let it slide.

The moment we wanted progress further we noticed the vampire from far talking with what  seemed like Ghouls. A flicker of a memory brightend and i remember somthing my goblin friend said about The dark ghouls being there enemy number one.

The group of ghouls spread out and systematiclly started searching for non other then us. Thank god for our stealth skills we could manage to escape them. The halfing pointed to some chainsytem that seemd to pull small carts and declared it as a way out. Alas at that moment the ghouls seemed to use some nifty divination magic cause how otherwise they spotted  us suddenly with our stealth skills.

Even The halfing looked  suprised with his murderous eyes.He yelled run..run stealthy.. So we ran but the ghouls were faster the only thing we could do now was hide. The halfing sneaked into a structure and seemed to keep praising me and pointed  to the cart system before he vanished.

I sneaked in a crypt and needed to think fast were to hide..I had a spell usefull for this and quickly sat down in a corner and casted a layer of stone around me making me look like a pillar.

Feeling save from  the eyes of the enemy i was happy i cut off the theat for now…a minute later i realised i cut off oxygen too. When the ghouls past me i almost blackend out but could in time free myself and gasped for air.

The ghouls were gone and my little friend removed himself from his hiding spot too.He certainly went for the cart and i started my stealth skills again to go there too. It was only my bad luck that i seemed to walk in a cursed or warded area because every step i did there seemed to make noise  enhanced 10 times fold. Soon the enemy was upon me. I ran like the wind tot the cart and spotted the halfing in it. Letting free the light of the daylight spel to make sure i had keen eyes on my surroundings.

Just in time i jumped in the cart and the halfing pulled the lever that motioned the cart.We destroyed the lever so that the enemy cound’t get to us.That was good thinking of the halfing.

Up and up we went into a chute and were for the moment safe. After passing  some small shafts we agreed to jump off the cart to hide and rest in one of the shafts.. Both verry tired and need of rest we took the gamble to sleep here guarded by only my last spell a guardian of faith.
