After a couple of days of trade we came to the northen forests, we decided to leave the cart here, as it would only slow us down from here out on. During the day clouds began covering the forest, and it started snowing more and more. We spotted a humongous tree (as in cloud reaching big), and decided to check it out, and hopefully use it for cover.
When reaching the tree we huddled against it under cover of a leomunds hut, we were there just in time before the storm completely broke loose. Rikardo lay hands on the tree immediately became very protective of the tree, there was a small spat between him and Romero about treating the tree with respect.
For myself, I checked out the tree in the normal and magical spectrum and found out that this tree was in the middle of a couple of leylines that gave this tree the magical boost to grow to its impressive size.
Rikardo tried to jog around the tree to find give it a look, but only a quarter around he fell in a pit and got attacked by spidery creatures. He got stuck there, but was able to get out of the hole just in time before being eaten.
When he came back to us he informed what happened, the description he gave reminded me of ettercaps, nasty creatures, that are sort of humanoid, but who have 8 eyes, have poisonous bits and can shoot webbing, also they have great adversion to they fey, including elves.
Rikardo convinced us that we had to take care of these creatures now, and not let these things keep infesting the tree.
When the weather had died down a little (after around 24 hours), we went towards where rikardo was attacked. We tried to be carefull but got ambushed anyway. The creatures, however, made the mistake of clumping up, not something one should do when facing such powerfull sorcerors as Romero, who gave them a quick fiery dead, with, I must say, a little help of fireball of myself. Rikardo confirmed the animosity the ettercaps have towards the fey, as they bunched up on him. He even went down for a moment.
As the most qualified healer of the party at the moment, I got him up with a spell, and then gave the ettercaps something to chew on, by turning our Rikardo into a mammoth!
