Boxes

Cubes one and two

Silver box found in Splitrock Quarry; Markings are from various languages – but are not “text” but mathematical in origin. Seems the box was placed sometime before the arrival of the Triffids in the area. One son of the Stewart Solvey was on watch when a cloaked figure (face and hands covered) arrived in the night. The figure seemed to compel the boy to let him examine the bottom-most chamber and was there (on his own) for around an hour. When he left he gave the boy some gold and told him to tell no-one.  When the silver box was recovered it was surrounded by a shimmering fractal shield of some sort. A gibbering mouther was also seen exiting through this shield. The silver box has survived both stabbing damage (from a rapier) and crushing damage from an enraged Ankylosaurus.

Golden box found in the cellar of the Finnley Farm; Markings are textual in origin but seem to be inspired by both Dwarven and Draconian scripts – while not being legible to either. The Finnley’s were all examined by zone-of-truth spells and found to be innocent of any connection to the placement of the box.

Both boxes seem to compel the viewer to touch them and interact with them.
